Children One-Piece Sleeve Basic Pattern Calculator - 3-14 Years

Children One Piece Sleeve

The children one-piece sleeve pattern calculator can be used for 3 age groups 3-6 years old (92-116cm tall), 7-12 years old (122-152cm tall) and 13-14 years old (158-170cm tall).

Instructions for using the pattern calculator:
* Add your measurements in the yellow cells from the "MEASUREMENTS" tab. The basic measurements needed for the pattern should be made by using the sketch from the same sheet and the measurement code (ex. A, B, C, etc.)
* Press button "Calculate"
* In the "RESULTS/INSTRUCTIONS" tab, the dimensions for the blocks will be computed automatically.
By following the steps from "RESULTS/INSTRUCTIONS" and the drawing you will be easily able to make your own pattern. Good luck!

One part sleeve - for boys and girls

Mark basic points on body block:

Join together al the armhole points (back and front).
Mark point A at underarm.
Mark points B and C at shoulder points.
Mark points D and E after you construct segments /0-2/ and /0-3/ from the sleeve block.
0 Square up across from point 0.
0-1 10.9 Square left from point 1.
0-2 5.5 Square left from point 2.
0-3 2.7

On the body block:

parallel E 2.7 Draw a parallel to the horizontal line from point A and mark points E on the front armhole line. The distance between this two parallel is equal to /0-3/ from the sleeve block.
parallel D 5.5 Draw a parallel to the horizontal line from point A and mark points D on the back armhole line. The distance between this two parallel is equal to /0-2/ from the sleeve block.

On the sleeve:

3-4 11.2 Connect points 3 and 4.
4-5 8.7 Connect points 4 and 5.
3-6 6.0 Connect points 3 and 6.
5-7 7.6 Connect points 5 and 7.
4-8 39.5 Square across from point 8 and mark points 9 and 10.

Sleeve head:

a 0.3 Square up from the middle of the segment /7-5/.
b 0.8 Square up from the middle of the segment /5–4/.
4-11 3.7 Mark point 11 on line /4-3/ : /4-11/ = 1/3*/4-3/.
c 1.4 Square up from point 11.
d 0.5 Square down from the middle of the segment /3–6/.
9-12 14.3 Square left from point 12.

Arrange the bottom lines:

9-13 [8–9]/6
10-14 [8–10]/6
Connect points 6 and 13, points 7 and 14.

If a wrist curve is required, please follow below steps:

14-8 0.5 Square down
8-13 0.5 Square up
Note: It is important that all measurements of the curvilinear sections of the armhole are done very carefully with a centimeter tape placed on the edge (see fig. from "MEASUREMENT"sheet).
