Children Two-Piece Sleeve Basic Pattern Calculator - 3-14 Years

Children Two-Piece Sleeve Pattern

The children two-piece sleeve pattern calculator can be used for 3 age groups 3-6 years old (92-116cm tall), 7-12 years old (122-152cm tall) and 13-14 years old (158-170cm tall).

Instructions for using the pattern calculator:
* Add your measurements in the yellow cells from the "MEASUREMENTS" tab. The basic measurements needed for the pattern should be made by using the sketch from the same sheet and the measurement code (ex. A, B, C, etc.)
* Press button "Calculate"
* In the "RESULTS/INSTRUCTIONS" tab, the dimensions for the blocks will be computed automatically.
By following the steps from "RESULTS/INSTRUCTIONS" and the drawing you will be easily able to make your own pattern. Good luck!

Instructions
All the segments from the "Value" column cannot be calculated automatically. They must be measured on the pattern.

Mark basic points on body block:

Join together al the armhole points (back and front).
Mark point A at underarm.
Mark points B and C at shoulder points.
Mark points D and E after you construct segments /0-2/ and /0-3/ from the sleeve block.

Two piece sleeve - for boys and girls

0 Square up across from point 0.
0-1 11.2 Square left from point 1.
1-2 4.7 Square left from point 2.
0-3 2.8

On the body block:

parallel E 2.8 Draw a parallel to the horizontal line from point A and mark points E on the front armhole line. The distance between this two parallel is equal to /0-3/ from the sleeve block.
parallel D 6.5 Draw a parallel to the horizontal line from point A and mark points D on the back armhole line. The distance between this two parallel is equal to /0-2/ from the sleeve block.

On the sleeve:

3-4 11.3 Connect points 3 and 4.
4-5 8.8 Connect points 4 and 5.
0-6 6.1 Connect points 3 and 6.
0-7 1.5 Square left and right from point 7.
7-8 1.3 Square down from point 8.
7-9 1.3 Square down from point 9.
1-10 39.5 Square left and right from point 10 and mark points 11 and 12.
10-13 2.0 From point 13 draw a horizontal line.
10-14 10.6 Connect points 10 and 14, 10 and 11.
7-15 14.9 Square left from point 15 (elbow line).
e 1.3 Bend inwards the lines /9–12/ and /8–11/.

Draw the sleeve head:

a 0.7 Square up from the middle of the segment /5-4/.
4-16 3.8 Mark the point 16, / 4–16 / = 1/3*/4–3/.
b 1.3 Square up from the middle of the segment /5–4/.
3-8 Connect points 3 and 8.
6-17 7.4 Measure straight the segment /D-A/ (please see the upper drawing from this sheet).
c 1.0 Connect points 6 and 17 with a curved line.
Check the length / 6–17 / on the sleeve, which should be equal to the length of the curvilinear section of the armhole between points D and A.
Connect points 6 and 9 with a slightly curved line.
Connect points 17 and 14, points 5 and 14.
Mark points 18 and 19 on the elbow line.
d 1.3 Bend outwards the lines /5–14/ and /17–14/.
Note: It is important that all measurements of the curvilinear sections of the armhole are done very carefully with a centimeter tape placed on the edge (see fig. from "MEASUREMENT" tab).
